The coffers are dry. After making our last trip to Ethiopia for court we had pretty much drained our savings. Well, we were not completely without reserves, but we didn't even have enough to purchase half of one airline ticket for the trip back. (No, we still aren't sure exactly when that will be.)
While we know God will provide the money we always wonder just how that will be accomplished. We are thinking we will need about $9000 for this next trip and have a long way to go. This week has been the beginning of that answer for us. As we checked the mail box we found checks/cash from people who don't have an abundance of extra to give. They have dug deep not just out of plenty, but out of the little that they have. Some of these people could have used those precious dollars for things they need, not just want, but need, in their own family. What a humbling moment. We are so grateful for those people who love us and our girls, even though they have yet to meet them.
Between these gifts, working every spare moment, and Naomi's thriftness with our budget we find ourselves just over halfway to where we need to be to make this trip. We know God will provide, the exciting part is watching the unexplained ways He makes it happen.
Beautiful! It's the best to see the community come together to bring home our children. These are moments I know God is well pleased!!!
ReplyDeleteI just ran across your blog and enjoyed reading it. My husband and I live in Lubbock, Texas and hope to be sending off our dossier to Ethiopia within the next two weeks (motsingeradoption.blogspot.com). I also wanted to tell you that I grew up in Miles City, MT. Small world!
ReplyDeleteJon and Joy - Thanks for stopping by. Good luck with everything. It's exciting and exhausting all at the same time. We'll be adding you to our reading list to keep up on what your family is doing.
