Changing Time Frames

After finding out about the typo in our adoption decree we found ourselves resigning to the fact that it would be sometime in December when we finally travelled back to Ethiopia to pick up our girls. It was the first week of August when we went to meet them. Already it feels like ages ago that we last held our daughters. Anyway we arrived at that conclusion based on our knowledge of "usual" time tables. For instance we expected court to reopen in October, then a week to get in to see a judge to fix the decree. Another week for translating, then there is the average 8 week wait for embassy approval, which would put us well into December.

Then we heard CWA was removed from the pre-screening list meaning: The Embassy wait would only be 2 weeks. Meaning a late Oct/early Nov travel date was not out of the question. However, a phone call told us that since we were already "in progress" this would not apply to us. We would have to go through the full pre-screen. Back to December it is.

Yesterday we talked with our case worker and found that much of the Embassy work is likely already done, and once they get the translated adoption decree we should be cleared to travel. So, Now we are back to thinking November..............
